Education Meetings

Our education meetings focus on a different topic each month in order to promote understanding of what mental illness is and to raise awareness of resources available to all those whose lives are affected by mental illness. Events are held in the First Floor Conference Room, State Building, 333 East St. (across from Pittsfield High School) at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Youth Suicide Prevention

Wednesday, April 14,  6:00 p.m.

Suicide Prevention will be the topic of NAMI-BC’s April education program when we are invited to join the Suicide Prevention Coalition meeting.  Guest speaker is Bear McHugh who is the new project coordinator for the Berkshire Area Health Education Center.

Mapping the Brain: Part II

May is Mental Health Month and we are pleased to have Dr. Alex Sabo as our speaker.  Dr. Sabo, who has been named the 2010 Clinical Psychiatrist of the Year by the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society, will speak on “Mapping the Brain: Part Two”.  Last year’s lecture was standing room only, so mark your calendar and arrive early to hear his unique perspective on this fascinating topic!

Held in the auditorium of the Medical Arts Center at Berkshire Medical Center, 725 North St., Pittsfield.
